10a-11a Deadliest Warrior: Vampires vs. Zombie -- Room 25ABC

SPIKE TV and its Deadliest Warrior franchise are going to finally answer the question: Which of these mythical creatures would come out on top in a fight to the finish? Guests: Max Brooks, Steve Niles and Wes Craven argue it out with the creative team from the series.

7p-8p History of the Modern Zombie -- Room 7AB

The Zombie Research Society hosts this panel of experts to discuss the history and evolution of the modern zombie - from its first appearance in George Romero's 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead to the most recent work being done in zombie science, survival, and pop culture today. Panelists include Max Brooks (author World War Z), Matt Mogk (head of the Zombie Research Society), Steven Schlozman (author of The Zombie Autopsies), Scott Kenemore (author of The Zen of Zombies), Bradley Voytek (author of Scanning the Zombie Brain)

FRIDAY JULY 22ND

11:15p-12:15p AMC’S THE WALKING DEAD PANEL - Room 6DE

The Cast, Director (Frank Darbondt) producer (Gale Anne Hurd), make-up artist (Greg Nicotero) and creator (Robert Kirkman) of the critically acclaimed Zombie TV series discuss the success of season one of AMC's series The Walking Dead and reveal what to look forward to in season two, which will air on AMC this fall.

MTV brings the unique marriage of horror and comedy together with this new series. Join the cast and producers of this series about an undead task force in the San Fernando Valley and preview a new episode.

7:30p-8:30p THE SCIENCE OF ZOMBIES: How Possible Is a Zombie Virus? – Room 8

The top creative minds behind the acclaimed and highly anticipated Dead Island role-playing video game and an esteemed medical professional in the field of brain research and brain disease explore the pop culture fascination with the zombie genre.

 

SATURDAY JULY 23RD

A chat with Robert Kirkman, writer/creator of The Walking Dead and Marvel Zombies (to name a few). He’s also a partner at Image Comics and will be talking about what’s coming from his SKYBOUND imprint there.

2:30p-5:30p SAN DIEGO ZOMBIEWALK PRE-PARTY - House of Blues

Before the undead roam the streets - they like to party! This all ages event is the lead off event for the biggest zombie event ouside the convention hall. Come zombified if you dare!
